Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Purba Medinipur was established in the year 2017, under the administrative control of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Monahpur, Nadia and which is situated Nandakumar Block, Mulakhop, Dayaldasi, Pin-721632, 23 km away from Tamluk District Headquarter. KVK Purba Medinipur is working for social-economic upliftment of the farmers within the district through scientific agricultural technology Assessment and Demonstration for its Application and Capacity Development. District Purba Medinipur is located under the lower Gangetic Plain Region (III) agro-Climatic zone of West Bengal. The district is geographically located between 21036’ to 22057’ N latitude and 860 33’ to 880 12’ E longitude. The district is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal and Balasore district of Orissa state in its south, Paschim Medinipur in its west, Howrah district in the north and south 24-Pargana in the east. There are 4 sub-division namely Tamluk, Haldia, Kanthi and Egra and 25 blocks. The geographical area of the district is 4,06,142 ha which is 4.57 % of the state but the population percentage is 5.58 of the state. The net crop area is 3, 04,800 ha.
